It should.. I turn BT on my Treo on, then flip open the mouth piece on my HS850, Treo turns itself on, BT icon on Treo changes... I hit the red hang up button to turn the screen off... when someone calls me, I hit the center button (or the green button) to pickup the call and the audio is automatically transfered to the HS850... I can also just hit the button on the headset if I wanted to... Same thing happens if I dial a number, once the call screen comes up, the audio is automatically transfered to the headset.

Default Plantronics 2500 v Motorola 850

I was using the Motorola 850 and was disappointed with the lag time. After reading George Marsh's review below and since the Plantronics had no lag time I wanted one. I was in Radio Shack yesterday and they had them for $59, which was $40 cheaper than I paid for the Motorola 850. I bought one, charged it up, and gave it a try. Just like George said - NO LAG TIME!!!!!! and it is lighter and more comfortable to wear. AND it has more features. We bought 4 of the Treo 650s and 4 of the Motorola 850 headpieces two weeks ago for our office staff. Anyone interested in a few slightly used Motorola 850 headsets?

Default Futhermore with the Plantronics M2500

Hello Everyone!

That's awesome Rusty, I am continuing to have nothing but rave reviews of the Plantronics M2500. I left out the comfortable feeling it has as Rusty mentioned. But the no lag time was a huge plus for me.

Keep the reviews and such coming it really helps!!

Successfully yours,

1 - You need to go into the device you wish to pair it and turn the Bluetooth feature first.
2 - Then you need to place the headset in pairing mode so your phone will find it.
Find your model headset in the instructions below. Once the headset is in "Pairing" mode you will then need to follow the instructions in your cell phone or Bluetooth device's user guide on how to go it to your phone and search for the headset & pair it to a Bluetooth headset. The passkey is 0000 (4 Zeros) except models M1000 and M1500 (see below for their number )
Pressing and holding down the call control button and holding down the volume up at the same time until the indicator light on the headset starts flashing red then blue.(green)

NOW IM RAVING ... its like i never even lost my m2500

GET RID OF THE MOTOROLA HEADSET! I had the HS820 and the HS850. I couldn't get either of them to work as I had hoped they would. I tried the new Jabra 800 and found it was incompatible with the TREO 650. I decided to do a little research on-line instead of asking the employees at Verizon and Circuit City to suggest a good option.

I found a headset by a company called Tekkeon. They have a headset called The EZ Talker Mini. I was a little sceptical as I had never heard of them. After reading many glowing reviews I decided to give it a try. What a difference!! For one, I can hear all of my calls without haveing the headset volume turned as loud as possible and still straining to hear anyone! When I make a call, the headset automatically engages. This never happened with either Motorola headset. It is lighter and easier to fit on the ear. It really is a great headset. I have not set up voice dialing yet as I wanted to make sure I was going to keep the 650 before I paid for the software for voice dialing but I spoke to Tekkeon customer support and they said they have heard fro customers that it works fine. Here is a link to the headset.

http://www.tekkeon.com/site/products-headsets.php

I purchased mine from ecost.com. I don't have the receipt in front of me but I believe it was less than $60 with shipping.

Hope it helps...
Well, as I wished after I bought the 650, I am now wishing I would have done more research before I bought my 850 headset. Whenever I get in the car, I may as well forget about using it to make a phone call. The "background" noise takes over the headset and I can't hear anything the other person is saying. I think I will go back to the drawing board and see about one of the headsets you all are talking about. Giddy-up.

I think the problem with mine is that there is "no" earbud. It just sits outside your ear. Which, when you're sitting in a semi quiet room, will work fine. If you're in the car...where there is other noise...is NOT good. I am out shopping now, that's for sure.

Ben, I have to give you props for being an optimist.

An earbud makes a big difference. Some of us like them, I hate them. Having worn a head set for over 20 years for work purposes, I have a dislike for anything "in" the ear. And yes, in the car with the windows down, headsets, especially Bluetooth it seems, do have problems. Here in Honolulu when the tradewinds are active, hang a headset.

As for headsets in general, I have done Motorola, Sony/Erickson, Jabra and Logitech and have settled on Motorola more due to comfort and battery life than anything else. The 850 for me was great, though its battery life was about 8 hours or so. The H500 is over 10 hours, the Raz3 I could not hear the caller. The S/E models (2 of them) killed my ear after 3 hours, the Logitech was was just plain uncomfy and the Jabra, well the one I owned ended up in the trash.

Operationally, each of the Motorolas has worked with my Treos and Nextel. I have had no problem pairing any of them; the ring tone can be heard in the ear AND the Treo speaker (wish it were only the headset), and the MFB works.

Ben
