Default Treo 650/Bluetooth headset/ software that dials

Sorry for the lousy title. I have a Jabra BT250v headset. I can dial out usingb the keypad and connect to the headset easily. I am wondering if there is any wireless headset software that will permit me to use voice into the headset to initiate the dialing thereby allowing me to leave treo in my pocket? The best I have found`sofar is the Treo phone dialer software. But it still requires me to take the phone from my pocket and press the phone button along with the center button before I can press the side button to activate the software. I primarily want the benefit of being able to dial hands free while driving and not having to take my eyes off the road. Am I asking too much?

Unfortunately, it's not possible because of the poor Bluetooth implementation from Palm.

Default Send an email to palm

They must implement this in their next updater. If you keep hounding them about it, they will <i hope>. I have been emailing them every other week and will continue to until they implement this. It is a vital part of safety...imho

<well that might be over the top a little... >

anyway, I think if we act like it should be part of the next updater and almost demand it I think it'll happen.

Smile Georgepink, share the email address you use

I will be happy to contact them if it would make a difference. I have my doubts they are going to be worrying much about the 650 updates since they now have the new 700. However I might be wrong. Isure would think it would not be all that hard to reprogram the 650 through some sort of firmware to allow the 650 to have the function we want.

    I've submitted here:

I get a 'personal' response each time, so I think I'm getting through, but one man can only do so much... just kidding, if y'all can send an email, maybe they'll do it just to stop the whinning.

I'm not cabbage patching yet, it isn't definate....only rumors, but there is a glimmer of hope....see link:

My thought is that even if this doesn't fix BT problems, it might enable 3rd party developers to take advantage of an update to bluetooth version. I can tell you, personally, I would be willing to spend a little more cash <even though it should be included in the price of the phone> IF....only IF it works.
