Default Treo 650 w/ Motorola H700 muting problem

I bought the Motorola H700 a while back when I had a motorola phone as it was supposedly designed to work more smoothly with other phones, including the treo. Now that I have a Treo 650 (Cingular) I find that it does, indeed, work quite well (except for a slightly low volume level, but I'll be checking out VolumeCare for that).

The only problem I have is that occasionally, when I adjust the volume while using H700, the speaker on the headset mutes entirely! I am unable to hear anything and I have to switch back to the handset before I can hear the caller again. The only way to get audio back in the headset it to turn it off and back on so that the phone sees it again and tries to pass the call back to it. I've been searching Google for days, but coming up with good search terms is difficult due to the abundance of pages talking about the "mute trick" to boost volume on bluetooth headsets.

I've checked that I'm at the newest cingular firmware update for my treo. Does anyone here have any ideas what could be causing it or what I can do to fix it?

Thanks.

-Daniel

Upon further review, it seems that VolumeCare doesn't do anything for the bluetooth. I saw this on a couple of different sites but decided to try it for myself just to verify.

The volume issue wouldn't be as big of a deal if I was able to actually adjust the volume without it muting the speaker on my headset. In fact, it seems that it actually disconnects my headset!

Thanks for any ideas...

Say can you verify for me that the BT does pick up incoming calls on the first or maybe first and half ring???
