    Default 650 randomly not placing calls

    Has anyone else experienced problems with the 650 starting to dial, then just going back to the main phone screen without connecting? This seems to happen to me most often when I've selected the # to dial from the call log, but it happens other times as well.

    Does anyone know if this is a problem with the phone or with Cingular?

    I've had this happen to me when using my Treo 600. It seems to happen sporadically and affects the favorites buttons. I usually go to my contacts and dial from there. Not sure why this happens. Doesn't happen often, but it is a bit annoying when it does. If it's not specific to the Treo 650 or Treo 600, then maybe it's an oddity that affects Cingular customers?

    How often does it happen to you?

    it seems to happen about 1 in 5 when dialing directly from the call log and 1 in 10 or 20 when dialing from the contacts list.

    it's frustrating in that i'll see it dialing, hold it up to my ear (btw, know my cheek's not disconnecing the call), get distracted with something else, and realize 10 or 15 seconds later it never dialed, then start all over again.

    I have seen this exact same problem. I am hoping that the new 1.25 release will fix this and other small problems.

    I've seen 1.23 floating around the web. I just assume wait for 1.25. I read where it was to be released on May 5th. When I get firm info, it will be here and on the homepage. I'm hoping it will fix the little annoying bugs.

    I started experiencing that from last night and this morning. Whats up with that?

    Default dial - no dial

    I've had this problem only a few times. Cingular suggested there was network trouble and probably not due to treo 650... I have not experienced any differentiation between calling from call log or dialing...just had the calling...oh not calling at all thing happen.. Super annoying but I held my breath and it went away. Cingular does seem to be going through some re-arranging after taking over at&t; switching towers/ getting rid of extra towers... but this also seems to be their excuse anytime they can't diagnose the problem..

    Thanks for the replies. I've continued to have this problem fairly regularly. Now sometimes I've noticed that it seems to happen at some of the same times/places as I get the No Signal - SOS Only message in the upper left, so I'm thinking this may be the way Cingular handles it when all lines are busy.


    Has anyone ever gotten a message from Cingular that all lines are busy or something else, or will it just drop the call before connecting it?

    I've never received the "all circuits are busy" type of message with Cingular. I rarely get the SOS message - I got it last week..drove half a block and had full bars. Weird. Overally, I don't have any problems with the service. If this annoying "call not going through" is the only issue, then I'm ok with that. I'll take that over poor service/signal any day.

    Need Help Treo 650 also not placing calls

    It is great to hear that mine is not the only one doing this. I have had several strange things like this happen ever since I got the phone. I am hoping that the last upgrade will solve these issues but I am not holding my breath.
