    Default Cingular Defecting to HTC?

I know this is a Treo place, but has anyone noticed the buzz about Cingular getting the HTC Wizard, and the new HTC candy bar WM5 phones, possibly withint hte next 30 days? That can't bode well for a Palm based susccessor to the TReo 650.

HTC is a hardware manufacturer; they sell their designs to others who will brand and sell the phones to end users.

I think its a good thing HTC has a lot of designs out there, but they arent the only one. And with the news of Palm using INventec to do teh next Treo (or two?), there may be another strong player in the mist of things for Cingular and others.

Doesn't HTC make the 650? I was thinking they made both the 600 and the 650. I think its a good move for Cingular to brand HTC Wizard. In fact, I would certainly consider the Cingular wizard over the Treo 700W. Nicer Screen, built in WiFi, slide out keypad, but not a lot of power under the hood. And for a decent pricepoint!
