Default Cingular makes me angry

First of all, let me jus say that I LOVE my treo.

However, my anger and disgust for Cingular has just about overtaken that love. I am ready to move to another carrier and I have a sick feeling that my treo may not survive the move. I really don't care if I have to move to Verizon or Sprint. At least they have EVDO.

I just don't understand how a change in data plan back in December is still effecting my account so that I can't see my usage. AND Cingular customer service will do NOTHING to fix this.

Anyone want to suggest a new carrier?

What's exactly happening?

If you wanted to switch, you'd have to choose a GSM provider -- and then swap the Cingular SIM card with say a T-Mobile SIM card.

I read Cingular customer service is not upto the mark. Did you try calling them? In general you should able to see your usage in the next billing cycle.

Every month I get this message:
U1536: Due to the recent change in your rate plan, we are unable to display usage information until after your next billing cycle begins on 03/27/06.

Except that the date is always the end of the next billing cycle. I have emailed customer service several times and everytime they say that it will be fixed soon. By the end of this billing cycle it will be a total of 3 months that I haven't been able to see my usage.

I just don't understand why the largest carrier in the country can't find the time or just plain won't help a customer that they have had for almost 7 years.

So, can I really just put a TMobile SIM in my Treo?

Not unless your Treo is unlocked.

My mistake... you do need it to be unlocked for you to be able to use a T-Mobile SIM card. I have read a number of posts where folks have had success calling Cingular and asking them to unlock their Treo. "I'm travelling to Europe with my Cingular Treo...yada yada yada.. rates are expensive with Cingular overseas. Just looking to use a SIM card over in Europe.. ".

If you are out of contract and get it unlocked, then you can use a T-Mobile SIM card.

Yea, everytime I log onto my account to check my bill, this is what I see also. My only comfort is they are only billing me for unlimited media net and the bill has not changed since the move. But I have seen that same blurb for months now. I am just wanting to see how much data I am actually using . . .
