Default Cingular Ringtones from Cingular's MEdia Net

New Cingular TREO 650 owner here and I love it. I was Cingular's website trying to buy ringtones. When I selected a ringtone that I wanted to purchase, it asked what kind of phone I had and it didn't list Palm as a phone manufacturer. Anyone have any tips for me? Thanks!

Default ringtones on the treo 650

i know this message is coming late - sorry
Hi
I was most pissed to find out that I could not down load ring tones on my new treo 650. I called cingular and the rep had the nerve to tell me that the 650 is for business people and those people mostly don't care about ring tones- I wish I could have reached through the phone and well you know...

Anyway, I got a hold of another rep and she explained more about the phone and why ring tones can't be downloaded but according to the palm 1 web site ...you can down load MIDI ring tones. But I am always suspect about items that palm does not support so be careful down loading ...

I am glad you have this everything treo site. I just got mine and I LOVE IT and I am actually holding out on the windows 700 (I love the palm OS too much and I like the Franklin covey planning software and I hate windows ...anyway more on that in another thread ...

If you want MP-3 ringtones, there are several options. None of them as simple as going to Cingular and picking out one or two however. . . You can install Ringo Pro, mring, or a freeware called Minitones. All three of these are available here in the ET store. Once installed, then you can add your own MP-3's from your computer to your Treo's card to allow one the above apps to play them as ringtones. Hope this helps . .
