| Good customer service... FINALLY!!! Had a little problem with the ol' bill today. I have MediaNet Unlimited, but ALL of data usage was showing up under the overages column. I tried to wait it out, but it just stayed there.
I was afraid to do it, but I called customer service. I didn't want to, but I did.
THE SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING!
I usually read people stating negative things about Cingular's customer service, and I love to join in. Mainly, because its true. But since I had a really excellent experience, I felt obligated to share.
His name was Jay and he was extremely helpful. Found the problem quickly, and fixed it just as fast. He even started to look at my usage to make sure that I had the best plan possible. Unfortunately, I was at work and couldn't stay on the line any longer.
There you go. Who would've believed it?

| I'm having the same issue - just switched to MEdia Net Unlimited, all my data now showing as "overages." What did Cingular tell you the issue was? |

| You guys made me curious so I just went and looked . . It appears that my data usage is not available at this time . . When I try to access it, I get some sort of error code telling me to try again later. . . This is not uncommon actually . . I have seen this before. Accessing my account on the web is always "glitchy"
I will keep checking for the next couple of days. Since I just switched to unlimited medianet, I would be upset if all my data showed up as overage! But I did check my plan, and its showing Unlimited medianet as my data package, and the $5.00 worth of IM's a month I added and my bill is about $42 more than it has been so I think I am OK . .

| I was scared that mediaNet wasn't going to cover my data usage for web browsing and whatnot on my Treo650. So it will?

| If you have unlimited MediaNet on your treo, you are covered for all the email and web browsing you can stand! If you do instant/multimedia messaging, that costs extra.
If you don't have unlimited medianet, You can surf/send email until you reach your limit, which on cingular is either 1mb service - 5 mb service or 10 mb service. and I believe after that, you are charged per kilobyte . .

| A lot of the instant messaging apps use your data (which is unlimited) as opposed to charging you per use.

| Don't make me take it back.... Well, I guess I spoke too soon. All of the KBs just showed back up under the overages column. Looks like another call to Cingular is in my near future. I will probably wait until after the weekend, no need to ruin it.

| Although I don't show overage, it shows I only have 763 KB's left, but then it says underneath that,
*data usage is measured in Kilobytes and is based upon last month's usage.
So if you didn't use any data last month, its not going to take many kilobytes to show you over your limit right? And if you go over that limit with an unlimited plan, you are not necessarily going to be charged for that overage?
I don't know if this is right or not, but I am assuming this is what is going on. I am hoping someone here can enlighten us . .

I just can't help but feel Cingular in particular is just out to screw over their customers. And its these types of things that feed that paranoia.

| I just got my Cingular bill after having unlimited MEdiaNet for a few weeks and I checked it to make sure I didn't have overages and I don't. I used about 17 MBs.
