    Default Newbie w/ Issues....

Hello all, I have been reading this since i was considering my Treo and I finally pulled the trigger. I am learning slowly but I do have a few questions. I have been able to sync all of my contacts and outlook goodies over, but I've only had it(650 w/ Cingular) for 3 days.........is veramail that bad?.........what is the best option, chattermail? For some reason my voice mail always shows 1(from the keypad screen) and when I check it, it's empty. Are there any apps that are not needed that I can remove to free up space? and how? I am going to get a memory card 1-2 gb? it's only $30 difference between the two, seems worth it? An finally it there a way to download and view Acrobat attachments from e-mails?

Thanks in advace to any and all that can offer some help!!

Congrats on your new treo and welcome to the forum!
    1) Personally I don't recommend Versamail. It's flaky. Depending on your needs, there are several great email apps available. Me, I've decided to use Chatteremail. Absolutely a fantastic application and the support from Marc Blank (the dev) is tremendous. Another great email app is Snappermail which I used since it was in beta a couple of years ago but I gave up on it. It has many little issues and the developers love to blame Palm for their failure to implement NVFS properly and not anything that they may have done wrong.! I agree to a degree but Chatter doesn't seem to experience the issues that I had with SM.

    2) The 1 on the voicemail speed dial will always be there. It doesn't refer to how many vm's you have but rather it referencing a quick key to dial voice mail. Press and hold the "1" key and it will dial vm.

    3) You cannot delete any of the apps that are on your Treo out of the box as they are a part of the ROM. There are ways to remove them but require you to flash your ROM with a custom version.

    4) Either a 1GB or 2 GB card is your choice. My recommendation is to get one with the fastiest read/write speeds such as the Sandisk Ultra II for example.

    5) There are a couple of 3rd party solutions that will allow you to natively view pdf's from downloaded email attachments. Personnally I recommend upgrading the version of Docs2Go that came with your Treo to the latest version (v 8). Version 8 now supports a native pdf viewer. PalmPDF is another option but I have never tried it.

    Good luck!

For that you'll need to use VolumeCare:
