System Tools or Repair What is your Cingular plan?

So, I am looking at Cingular for a plan.
Since I cannot put the MediaNet on a Pay As You Go account I would need the monthly one, right?

Monthly: 39.95 plus the MediaNet 19.95 = $59.90 Is this enough? Do I need MMS? Can I read my yahoo mail with MediaNet? Is Data Connect necessary to read my e-mail? Will that be another cost? One web page on Cingular is saying that Data Connect is 39.95 extra? Maybe forgo the MediaNet and just get datta Connect?
    Can someone help?
    G.

    Default My Plan

I have the new plan 49.99 with 1500 anytime minutes and unlimited media net. I can access web based e-mail from Yahoo or Gmail and I use Versa mail for my pop3 and imap 4 accounts.

I was thinking of cancelling my AT&T account and switching to T-Mobile to get a free Blackberry 7105t when I was offered a non-published 1,000 minute plan with rollover and free mobile-to-mobile (cell-to-cell) for $40 and a deal on a Treo 650. So I did the AT&T to Cingular migration.

I have MEdia Net unlimited ($20) which gives me everything except for text/instant messaging (SMS - Short Messaging Serivice) and multimedia messages (MMS). I send/receive email (Gmail), surf, etc. Multimedia messages are 25-cents each and I did a few and decided it wasn't something I needed.

I had added 200 text messages ($5) to the plan but when I sent a friend a "Hi. This is from my new Treo." message and he replied with a lengthy message that was truncated into 13 separate, broken in odd places, almost unreadable text messages I decided that text messaging wasn't for me either.

So, bottom line, I find that MEdia Net unlimited is all I need. A friend just switched from PDA Connect to MEdia Net and said he doesn't notice a single difference...except his wallet is $20 fatter now.

If you go here you can see the MEdia bundles, etc.

Also, if you check your account online, click on the "My Features" link (down the left side of the window) and then click on the "Available Features" tab, you can see what you can add to the plan to suit your needs.

The cool thing about data plans is that changes go into affect almost immediately and do not alter your cell contract. So you can switch around, testing things out until you get what suits your needs.
