    Default Anyone running Windows Vista?

    Hi,

Has anyone run the Palm Desktop Software to Sync with Outlook Contact Manager under Windows Vista? I purchased a new laptop with Vista, and while it has been pretty smooth, I have had a few compatibility issues with some software and a printer. Can anyone offer some advice or encouragement? Thanks in advance.

    Default Vista Problems

I have having several problems with Vista compatability, including Palm software for my Treo 650. I tried re-installing the Palm software but functionality is limited to syncing contacts and dates. No applications are updated and the quick install feature doesn't work. I have basically resigned myself to using my old computer until Palm fixes their program to run with Vista. The last time I went to the Palm website, there was no timetable on this update. Other applications (HP Director for my printer, Maxtor for my external tape drive, Yahoo Music Jukebox, etc.) have similar "issues" with Vista. Basic drivers seem to be preinstalled with Vista but full program functionality as with XP is not operational. Anyone have any GOOD information??

    Default Palm Website

    Hi JW,

Thanks for the reply. I managed to do some research on the Palm website and they do not have the new drivers for Vista. They also do nt offer any suggestions as to when or if they will be available. Very disapointing. It seems that even the Windows based Treos have some issues. It does sound like we can back up our contacts on the palm desktop at least. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Mine was working fine except for the quick install and Doc 2 Go. Now all of a sudden, I cant open my desktop. it seemed to reinstall ok then when I try to run it, I get the splash screen and it just hangs there forever. I took off the recently installed stuff and it didnt help. It wont run. It seems to sync though. I'll update if I get it to work. This is also posted on the MS message boards.

Instead of Quick Install, try PilotInstall - http://envicon.de/e/pinstall/pinstall.html. Ben

Default New version of PalmVista Simple Installer / TreoVista

TreoVista Simple Installer has been renamed to PalmVista Simple Installer because it works with other palm devices on Vista.

    The new version is 1.0.0.4

It now will install all Palm compatible files to handheld and any file to the default expansion card on the Palm PDA.

    Thank you,

    Von Wallace
