Interesting. My log goes back a bit further, but you are right - it does not last forever.

Treo 800W. 15 days. I went looking for an application that does what we are wanting and found UnlimitedCallLog - downloaded/installed/and executed a hard reset as a result of. The sc oop - installed it, ran the application and it did not work, error message that it could not do something (parce?) anyway, exited it and then opened up File Explorer and tapped the 2nd exe file - the device froze up. Multiple soft resets were done and each time the device froze up. Well, ended up executing a hard reset, restored from the previous day and life was again good.
UnlimitedCallLog - watch for this one. It does not work on the 800W - tried twice.

Search around for a program called CallStat. I see the 800w is supposed to be compatible. A free trial is offered so give it a shot, but it is not freeware ($12.99) if the trial works for you...I did not see it in the ET store.

Before playing with a "suspect file," always back the device up. I use SPB Backup, as I came across a few bad backups with Sprite.
You can download directly to the device or the desktop; I normally do the desktop. If you download directly to the device, you will be prompted on where to save the file. I save to the card in a folder I created called "Download."
If you download to the desktop, you can use Active Stynk to transfer it to the device. I normally transfer it to the card and install it to the card. If the application does not work on the card (normally you will be prompted if it needs to go to the device), then delete it and install it to the card.
I use Bluetooth exclusively for everything having to do with the cohabitation of the device and the laptop.
Hard resets - easy once you get use to how it is done. You can execute a hard reset by pulling the battery out, holding the "red" button down immediately upon inserting the battery, after the Palm screen comes up and the line at the bottom reaches half way, you can release the red key and the reset prompt will appear. If you have a software application that has the capability of executing a soft reset, the same basic line of thought still follows - execute the soft reset and immediately hold the red button down.
Again, back the device up when you play, especially when playing with an application you have been warned of, one that has a reputation, or you just do not want to take a chance. My device is backed up at 9P every day and as needed when play time happens. Better safe than sorrow and broke.
