hot sync problem

hi i don't have a treo i have a centro, but i've heard they are similar, if anyone could please help me out with my problem that would be awesome

i was just using my phone normally today and it just started bringing up the hot sync screen, and freezing on it, and if it didn't freeze when i clicked cancel it would just pop back up, i then pulled the battery and when i put it back in the screen wouldn't work, after doing that a few times it finally turned on, but i had the same problem

can someone please tell me what to do , i do not care about losing any photos or data i just want my phone to work

now my phone is back to turning on but only has a black screen
