I want an unlocked treo but how do i get internet?

I want to purchase an unlocked treo probably a 650 since they are more affordable on ebay and use t-mobile prepay service. I am going to buy a 100 dollar 1000 minute card. Now if i use my laptop with pdanet will i be able to browse the internet without purchasing a data plan? If not what are my options?

You have to have a dataplan to use PdaNet. Options? I have a few, but you aren't going to like my answers . . . If you are going to use a Treo with its data functions, your going to have to bite a bullet and get a data plan. If buying unlocked thats T-mobile and Cingular. I think Sprint has the most resonable data options . . . Best of Luck, and let us know what you end up with . .

Okay thanks for the reply. I currently have sprint and its true they have the best data plans but the other services are to much money. I get about on average 200 dollar bills each month on 4 lines using a family plan. No one ever goes over the alloted minutes. What about that t-zones deal for 5.99

I am not familiar with t-zones. Is that WiFi hotspots? I don't know, but if it is, it won't help you at all with the 650 . . No WiFi support on the 650 . .

I am using Cingular's mediaNet. It was a grandfather deal, but its only $20 vs $40 for the PDAConnect. I am not arguing that its expensive. But since I have been constantly connected to my email and all you can eat data, I believe I am addicted. It would be hard to return to a limited or no plan . . Then again, if I were seeing your bill, it might not be that hard . . .
