Lost my datebook archives - software problem
Probably a very basic query but can't find anything doing a search.
My 680 device has lost all my old datebook data and, apparently via synching, (although HSM is set to synchronize the files) both my desktop and laptop are missing this important information. When I open Archive, same problem.
My husband's Palm Desktop still contains my information, but I have synched with it and still cannot find my information.
Is there likely to be a backup file on his computer that I can just transfer to mine in order to retrieve this information?
I was using HSM version 4.2 when this happened but have just updated to 6.0 in one of my computers, which didn't help. His seems to be v6.0 already.
Any suggestions or ideas appreciated. At my age, I need all the help I can get remembering what I was up to last year and the years before :embarassed:...

Have you attempted to copy the file (your information) from hubby's computer to your computer, copying it to your Palm desktop folder under the \users\your name\Documents\Palm OS Desktop and for the just in case thing, also copy to something like \spare\YOUR NAME\Palm OS Desktop.

Lost my datebook archives
Thanks, Benjie.
Sadly, after I synched my device yesterday with it, now even his computer has no old datebook information for me. So it is probably gone (or hidden) forever.
It appears from Windows Explorer that Archive files are empty in both my computers and his.
When in Palm Desktop I click on "File" "Open Archive" it gives me an "Open Calendar Archive" screen which has preselected .dba files, but nothing happens when you click open.
My "backup" files on his computer are all older, but even when I substituted them for mine the result is the same.
I am not sure what the "Revert" option means in the Desktop File dropdown, probably not much unless this had just happened.
I suppose there is a glitch in my device that has done this and spread it by way of HotSyncing. I notice that the default setting for synchronizing backups is "handheld overwrites desktop" in the old system (4.2?); and in the new version (6.0) it is the only option.
I am wondering how to prevent this going forward. Once again, any advice would be appreciated. :frown:
