No problem. I can tel you this. The 650 is less expensive and very stable and you have a lot more apps to choose from. The 700 is new and fast. I have a 650 and have 2 friends that have 700's. EVDO smokes my palm. Everyday there are more and more apps that are coming out for the 700. The 700 also integrates very easily and securely with Exchange server (especially 2003). 2003 SP2 has features bilt in strictly for mobile users.
The 650 is about to be replaced by a 700p.

It sounds like, I'm knocking the 650, but I'm not - I love mine and can't wait for the 700p to come out. I'm a network admin and I knid of wish I had a 700w though. Sorry to confuse you even more.

No Problem..

Your answer is the same as everyones. They like alittle about each. I think I am going to get a used 650 and wait a couple of months for Verizon to tweak the software on the 700w.

Thanks for all your help.

Now I just need to decide on the 650 vs. the 700w. I like the idea of the EVDO capabilities with the 700w, but at the same time I like the features of the palm os.
Well, if you're familiar with Palm OS, then that may be the route to go. Keep in mind also that not all areas have EVDO rolled out. If you're more comfortable with Windows, then go for it. Personally, I find the Windows Mobile interface to be a lot more cluttered, but that's a matter of personal preference.

I went to a verizon store tonight and explored each unit. The 650 is so much easier to use than the 700 IMO. I work on a windows based computer all day but on the small screen I found it to be overly confusing.

I did find myself searching for the trackwheel a couple times. While reading test e-mails.

Do you know off the top of your head if there is a program that allows you to do a yellow pages or google search off the main OS page. For the BB I have a program called Blackberry 411 that allows easy searches and number look up.

Directory Assistant lets you do address and phone number lookups, and get mapquest directions. It's donation-ware, you can find it here. As for Google searches, the simplest thing to to would be to set Google as your homepage in Blazer (Treo default browser).

Thanks for the info. I will look into those apps. There seems to be tons of useful programs avalible for the palm os. Now I just need to find a good deal on a used 650 for verizon and I will be all set.

Just make sure that any Palm apps you try are compatible with OS5. Some older apps won't play nice with your shiny new Treo. When you break down and buy it of course, it's only a matter of time...

Oh I am sold on the Treo. I will buy one soon, I am watching a couple on ebay right now. I can't wait. Thanks for all your help. I'm sure I will have a million question once I get a unit.

So my Treo came in the mail today. Before I start loading apps someone said I need to download an uninstaller? What is the one I need?

Thanks.

Well, I use RemoveIt, from Blue Nomad. Destaller Pro is another popular one. You'll probably also want to get a backup program. I use Backup Buddy, also by Blue Nomad. You can get both BackupBuddy and RemoveIt as part of the Nomad Suite. I'm sure others will weigh in with their favorites, just wait 5 minutes...
