As I approach the end of my contract, I find my Treo 700p getting a little beat up (but still working) and I am considering getting a new phone. I've considered the Treo Pre but I have some reservations about this; New systems notoriously have problems on their first release and it would mean that I would no longer have access to some of the applications that I have and I am used to.
I have tried some of the WM systems, I haven't tried the Blackberry yet but as I said I have some Palm software that I really don't want to give up.
I feel that the 755p (probably Alltel) is the last of the Treo phones that will utilize this OS and I am inclined to go this route.
Possibly then in two more years the WebOS will have a proven track record and I will switch.
I am soliciting advice/comments from anyone regarding my selection.
Treo 700p (Sprint) 2GB SD card; Palm Centro (Sprint) 4GB Micro SD card
Software I like: 4cast, Autofile, Bejeweled2, CallRec, Destaller, EasyNotes, GoogHelper, GoogleMaps, HealthFile, PdaNet, PdaReach, RscBackup, SplashID, SplashShopper, Tryda.
The Centro will handle the applications you are running on the 700P. As for the Treo Pre, when you switch operating systems, never expect everything to run perfectly; however, Style Tap is being worked on to run on the Pre and that should give you access to many of your Palm OS applications.
I up'd to the 800W (a couple of sliders before that) and really liked it; however, after 3 of them going bad, I went with the Touch Pro and frankly, other than continuing to hate the slider, it is an excellent device. Memory is good, speed is good, et cetera.
From the list you display, the applications will run on the Centro.
