Trade a Cingular 650 for a Verizon 650...Anyone? - Treo Forums

I have a Cingular Treo 650 that I thought would be compatible with my provider, who is Verizon. I'd change services, but I'm still in Verizon for 1 1/2 yrs, and we all know what that's all about.
The two 650s aren't compatible with one another, right? Is there anything that can be done to reprogram a Cingular 650 to work on a Verizon network, or is it more than just a reprogram or chip?
I'm guessing that it's not as simple as reprogramming or changing chips, so what should I do?
Is anyone interested in trading a Verizon Treo 650 for my Cingular Treo 650?

The Cingular Treo 650 is a GSM phone that utilizes a SIM Card. Verizon uses a different technology called CDMA. To sum up, you will not be able to use the Cingular Treo 650 with your Verizon service.

Looks like I need to find somebody who has a Verizon 650 but wants/needs the GSM/sim card that my phone has (if I could only bail on Verizon, I'd do it)

I know it has been a long time since your original post. I am wondering if you have found a resolution. I actually have a Verizon Treo 650 and need a Cingular.

Like I said, I'd prefer to trade, but if you're not interested in trading, I plan to sell it.

Squared it away, and traded with fmnnity4046 (who is a straight-up honest person).
