Default treo vs. blackberry

ok guys,

i have a blackberry with nextel and pay $45 a month for data. i don't need the email push thing and feel i'm paying to much for data with the blackberry. i just found out that i can leave nextel and move to sprint with no get out of contract charge now that thay are together. why would i co this?... for the treo.
i have always loved the treo but have never owned one do to my company using nextels. my company now, years later , say thay don't care what carrier i use. i now am looking into the treo.

after searching and read many thing on the blackberry forums all i hear there is bad stuff. thay claim the treo is slow at data, has a lot of crash problems, not as duribale, ect. i would like to hear the other side of the story.

why do you guys use the treo over the blackberry? please give all your thoughts and oppions.

thanks, cody

Probably the biggest difference between the two is the number of applications available for the Treo (Palm OS) compared to the Blackberry. The Treo is capable of more multimedia functionality than a Blackberry. It's true that quite a few have run into issues with the Treo, but that's because being able to install whatever application you want on the device opens up the possibility for problems. If you're mindful of what you install, you can cut down on the headaches. I have no idea how they compare as phones, but I would expect the data capabilities are similar.

You should be able to access your email without a problem if it's POP3 or IMAP. Chatteremail has been reported to be the best solution for a true push email solution, though part of that depends on the IMAP mail server.

All that I've written is based on what I've read, so hopefully someone can comment that has actually used both devices.

thanks for the reply alex mathews. that's one of my biggest complaints, the lack of apps for the blackberry. there are apps but not very many, and thay all cost money. nothing is free for the blackberry.
the email push thing is not something i need.

keep the replies comming.

thanks, cody
