Default Use treo as a business line?

I've heard of some voice-mail and phone systems that allow you to use your treo as a business line...maybe I'm not being entirely clear, but you can have calls routed to your treo if you're not at the office or something of that nature. Basically it'd be like a sophisticated kind of call forwarding. Does anyone use anything like that?

Any decent phone system should allow you to call forward. Routing to a cell is no different than a land line. I've done it both with my Treo and dumb phones.

Dude, call forwarding is like beta compared to some of the 2.0 programs they have out there. I run my own business so I use the treo a lot -- my treo has its own extension (is that what you mean by "business line"?). Also, the plan I have through GotVmail -- they're a sophisticated small business voicemail service -- emails me the text from any voicemail I get also directly to my treo. Of course you could do this with other phones as well, I haven't used too many of them however. So when my customers call they hear a professional automated voice that directs them to the appropriate line -- which, if I'm on the run, is my treo. A lot of companies offer this service, if you're looking into getting it, but I'd ask around for referrals first. We had a few lousy experiences before settling happily with GotVmail.
