Which one is best...700p or 700w? HELP!

I have really wanted to go out and get the Treo 700 but I haven't been sure on which on I should get. I am hearing a lot of bad things about the 700w. I have only been a member of this board for about 45 minutes so far and have read that the reception has had problems, the voicemail icon has problems, and I have also heard that the systems crash on the 700w quite often. Is this all true? I like Windows so I would think that it would be the best for me, but I am not sure because I am not used to anything with the Palm OS. Please help me decide so I can finally get it over with. So is it the 700w or the 700p that I should get...or should I get the 700wx or wait and get the 750v? Too many choices!!!

Len, I think that is the delima that we all face! Which device?? I think anyone who has owned several will tell you that the perfect device has yet to be built! But there are some pluses and minuses to each one out there. Its up to you to find the one thats right for you. As far as the reception issue, don't take that to mean that if you buy a 700W, you will have reception problems. This is more location specific than Treo Specific. Also, Palm just released the 700Wx that has twice the memory and many have had good things to say about this device. As far as the icon issue thread, you read about, I am still not sure that what those people are seeing isn't what it is. 1 and the voicemail icon are on my Treo also. Its there to tell me this is a shortcut to access my voicemail . . . Not that I have any waiting. Again, not a Treo specific problem. I thought the same thing when I first got my 650 Palm. . . .

Some differences between P and W I have noted:

-The 700P has a little bit better display
-Both seem to have a few bugs
-One handed use probably goes to the 700P although the W is better than most WM devices.
-The W will support native office apps without an add on, but the 700P with Docs to go is pretty good.

Finally, just let me say, that if you think you will be more comfortable with Windows, you might be right . . I personally like the Palm OS and believe me I am a windows guy from the word go . . But know that no matter what OS you go with: Windows, Palm, or even Symbian, expect a learning curve! Questions in the forums should be evident of that!
