| Wifi faster than sprints power A am hot to find a pda with wifi which is pushing me to a windows treo or another device. Friends with iphones say that the wifi is as fast as broadband on a home pc with multitasking. Is it faster?
It takes forever for my 650 to download and I get "page too large" alot when downloading. Pics are skipped so my downloads go faster.
So wifi faster?
Newer palm version treo faster?(power vison capable)
go with windows device with wifi??

| I can tell you that a later model Treo, on EvDO, will be faster than your 650. And EvDO coverage is much more extensive than when the 700p first came out.
As for WiFi...I've been with some friends who have cruised along at great speeds at some spots on different devices....and some who have dragged along. I'm by no means a wifi expert but it seems to me to be dependent upon the source / number of users.
Being able to access the higher-speed data networks or wifi on demand would seem to be the ultimate position. You're right, that does seem to mean WM right about now. I've been tempted myself. I've traded a couple posts with StillRockin about HTC's TyTn II, which run WM6. For me, it would mean switching from Sprint to AT&T but that thing almost has me tempted.

| Well checked out an iphone that a friend has and the wifi was faster. It was in an alltel system but there was a vast difference in speed. Then tried my sons Ipod with wifi and it flew. Loaded whole pages quickly and could zoom in to read text. Awesome. You could save an opened page and open another one. Multitasking. Downloaded with pics and everything else. No media or flash player right now on the ipod. don't know about the iphone.
Are the new treos (700and up) that much faster than the 650? I now that sprint has power vision that you can get sprint tv but if it is as slow loading as my 650 it will probably time out.

I wasn't planning on the 700p when it first came out because we didn't have EvDO here in Columbia, SC at the time, but got it because of a great deal. Out of the box, it was no faster than the 650 in my home area. When I got on the road, though, it was lightning fast. And still is, depending on the strength of the EvDO signal where I am at any given time. I still do better in many areas than at home (though I'm usually on my notebook or PC at home). I haven't tried SprintTV but I remember how spotty MobiTV was on my 650. You really don't want to try any streaming without EvDO.

| hmmn...I wonder if I am paying for power vision but it is not in my area. I seem to load stuff faster away from home on the 650 too.
