? about Preload, Web OS Quick Install, Hombrew, etc...
Ok so I hate to sound stupid but here I go...:dft010:smile I have a Pre and am looking to be able to add all the extra apps and fixes to it. My question is what is the difference between all the different programs available to do this as I am new to all this... There is Quick Install, Preload, Web OS, etc... How do I tell which one to do and how do I go about it..? I have looked at the precentral homebrew info but to be honest it is kinda confusing... All the explainations assume you know what you're doing. Can anyone explain it in laymans term? I am good at following directions when I am given them in terms I can understand, lol. If you need more specific info to help me please ask and I will answer to the best of my knowledge (which is very limited...lol) Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't be scared. Just be patient and follow the instructions to a T.
Web OS Quick Install is the first thing you need to start with. Go to the first page for them and follow the instructions. It is pretty simple. Start HERE. Make sure your computer has the most up to date JAVA installed.
With QI everything you do will have to be through the PC. The good thing with Preware is that once it's loaded you can get all the hombrew apps, themes and most of the tweaks over the air. To load Preware go HERE.
Hopefully this will get you started and open up a whole new world to the phone that you didn't know exsisted. Let me know how things work out for you.

But from what I've gathered from reading the wiki is no.

Glad you got it to work. Did you put preware on it? I do like QI but sometimes you want to change a thing or two and preware allows you to do it without being at the PC.
