Developer Mode????
I have my Pre in developer mode so I can install some HomeBrew Apps. Well, I just noticed I left it in Developer Mode all night long.
Is it of to just leave it in Developer Mode?

it is but not recommended. there is a new program from precentral.net that allows you to download apps with having your pre in dev mode.
Pre so easy to use even a caveman can use it.

I think JoeK was confused?? Quickinstall does require development mode enabled. Filecoaster on the other hand does not... so download filecoaster. Also, DevMode being on by itself is not going to do anything bad to the phone, but with devmode enabled to things are possible.
1) you do something bad to your phone when installed to pc, rooted, etc that you did not intend to do.
2) more hacker friendly as others could (possibly via bluetooth or wifi) hack your pre.
Neither sounds very possible for the average person to encounter as a regular or daily threat.. but you never know. Especially if you web surfing on your phone with devmode inabled and code built within a website could jack your phone up.

You'd have to be in DevMode and have the filesystem with write properties. Which goes back to read-only after a reboot.
The the hacker would need novaterm or putty to access the phone in order to change the permissions.
IF SFTP was installed, or if they installed through command line, then they could use vi to give themselves access to copy, or add, files to/from the phone.
This would take a skilled person familiar with the Pre and just happen to have a computer handy.
Oh then there's always the issue of finding your IP address.
