Looks pretty good. Will this app let you edit playlists on the fly? I'd like an app that would let me shift songs around in a playlist while music is playing in the background.

Also, MediaMonkey for Windows has a "play next" option, where you can insert a song into a current playlist while another is playing. Could that be done here?

For now, the playlist editing is separate from the playback screen. It does allow you to add playing songs to a playlist or create a playlist from the songs you're listening to.

However, your ideas are certainly in line for my plans for future upgrades.

I am thinking about that. Would you prefer a repeat option for repeat song? The app currently repeats all the songs in a list by default. Would you prefer a button that toggles between no-repeat, repeat song and repeat all?

I am working on this in conjunction with the crossfade feature. They both rely on a preloading feature that I am testing.

It currently does not support this feature. It is not hard to implement, but I am waiting on Palm to formalize a File I/O API to allow third party apps to write to the media partition. I am sure I'll be able to add this feature to a future update.

Very Nice Player, I don't have a Pre yet but I'm very glad to see there are competent media players available, it just makes the purchase decision more likely. Good Job!

This app looks killer. Will it support organizing Podcasts? My major complaint (above even bookmarking) is that the Pre's music player app just dumps all your Podcast episodes into one giant list. I prefer to sync Podcasts, as opposed to using PrePod, so hopefully this is a consideration. I can't be the only one driven crazy by it.

Here's a question I'm surprised I haven't seen asked yet: Since I see you listen to Tiesto too, I would think you'd care about this...does/will it do gapless playback? I can take all the other crap of the stock music app, if it would just play my damn trance albums without gaps. *sigh*

Not at the moment. There are some limitations in the current SDK that make it difficult.

However, I'm sure that Palm will make some changes to the SDK, that playlist sync back is definitely going to be included in a future update.

All future updates will be free for those that purchase the app.

You can save bookmarks very easily. When playing a podcast or list of songs, you can click on the Save Playlist button(circle with a pencil in it) on the Now Playing screen. That will save a Playlist with a bookmark of the currrent track and time.

I would prefer to do it automatically, but I have had some problems with asynchronous database transactions when the app is shut down. I have seen other developers complain about similar problems, so it might be an SDK problem.
