some help plz

[Lost Prototype]

so i got like 2 problems.

first ever since there was a transfer over with the patches and the update to 1.2.1 my virtual keyboard hasnt been working. it was b4 the transfer but now after i install it and it goes through fine but when i go into a text or something and try to open it and use it, it doesnt show up.

and the second thing is that since no one wanted to help me over at precetral i went to see if i just used the webos repair utility and see if it would work then. but then i ran into another problem in wich that i have the webos doctor and repair utility for 1.2.1 but when i go to use it, it wont let me select the webos doctor that i need to do it. i read about it and they say that its because u dont have the right version of webos doctor but ive gone through like 5 different ones all for firmware 1.2.1 and it still doesnt show.

so can some one PLEASE help me out here.

Let me see if I'm understanding properly --is the webos doctor not detecting the presence of your phone (i.e. the "next" button is grayed out)? I had to boot my Pre into usb boot loader recovery mode for it to be detected.

specifically this part:
"If your PC does not recognize your Pre and you cannot go past step 3 above, try the following steps:

1. With the USB cable connected, power off the Pre
2. Hold down the Up button on the volume rocker
3. While holding the Up button, power on the Pre
4. "Next" should now be enabled - proceed with the recovery"

no its not the webos doctor that isnt reconozing the phone.
its the application "WebOSRepairUtility" that cant find the .jar of webos doctor when its in the same folder as it and when it asks me to find it it doesnt show up in the folder

rename the doctor file to webosdoctor(?)
I've had to do that before.

but dont i loose all my contacts and stuff like that. cuz i really dont feel like redoing it all....

ooo alright. i dont no to much about webos and **** so i didnt no what would happen. i dont really care if i loose texts or w/e. and what about pictures that ive recieved and save to my phone?
