Camera or Multimedia WebOS Quick Install updated

Now with 1.2.1 you can still get your tweak on...

I posted in response to a Preware thread and was suprised not to find a thread on Quick Install update

    http://forums.precentral.net/homebre...-7-beyond.html

few highlights of how i've tweaked out my pre

    1. I have a virtual keyboard, with sound and haptic feedback. Don't need slider open, works in lanscape too. Works surprizingly well
    2. I can forward text messages
    3. Email and text messenges work in landscape
    4. LED (blinks) with notifications
    5. new cards for separate text messages
    6. battery icon and percentage in upper right hand corner

I love my phone but to me this makes Palm look bad!!! Many people have been complaining and begging to be able to forward texts and Palm still has not given it to the masses while developers have given it us. I even have a virtual keyboard. What is the hold up with Palm. Palm should just pay these developers if they can't get it done themselves. I've tested text forwarding and the virtual keyboard, and guess what, it works! So, I don't want to hear any lame excuses. Also, I have the music remix app. You can make a playlist on the phone! and guess what, it works! WHy doen't the native app allow you to make a playlist on the phone. Again, if Palm can't get it together they should just pay the developers and use their source code or whatever.

Anyhow, I'm done with the rant. Phone rocks and thanks to the hard work of many, my phone rocks more!!! It's sad that the masses don't get these (mostly basic) features. Not so much a basic feature but imagine how long it'll be before the masses get a virtual keyboard. LOL.

Of course those of us that choose to tweak our phones assume the risks. No issues here to date.

I gave in and finally installed WebOS Quick Install.

I installed the virtual keyboard, and it was cool for a bit but I'm not used to it yet/want to wait for an official Palm version. How do I go about getting it un-installed from my Pre?

I love the blinking LED notification and the SMS forwarding. Definitely keeping those. I'm sure to uninstall these tweaks, all I have to do is "uncheck" the box from the Tweaks menu, correct?

Will downloading the Package Manager (required to use QuickInstall to download .ipk's) that it forced upon me before adding tweaks be dangerous with an OTA update? As in, do I have to "remove" the Package Manager/GNU/DiffStats that installed before I go and update my phone through an official Palm-released update?

EDIT: I figured out how to uninstall the Virtual Keyboard...I used the device manager to Uninstall it, and put the Pre in USB Mode to delete the folder. I hope that was the proper way to do so.

Still not completely sure that ONLY unchecking the tweak box will uninstall the tweak completely for future OTA updates...?

Also, referring to my last question, do I need to follow the same procedure I did for uninstalling the Virtual Keyboard for the Package Manager Service/GNU/DiffStats downloads before I install an OTA update (less deleting the folder in USB mode since a folder isn't created obviously)?

I used WebOS Quick install to install package manager and PreWare. It worked without a flaw and can be downloaded from the internet. It requires a USB cable and your phone in dev mode. If you dont know how to do that, just go to your home screen and type upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart. you should now see the DeveloperMode icon pop up.

Check out the following links if you have any trouble.

    To unistall something from preware:

go to installed packages and swipe it like you would do to delete an email
