Can you attach downloaded pics to contacts?

I went to facebook today from my pc, downloaded some profile pics, sent them to my phone and tried to attach them to my contacts list. For some stupid reason, it won't fully attach them.

I went to edit, clicked on the picture icon, clicked on "downloads" (where my downloaded facebook pictures are), adjusted the size and finally attached and hit "done". ONCE YOU HIT "DONE", NOTHING ATTACHED TO THE CONTACT AFTER BACKING OUT TO THE MAIN CONTACTS SCREEN.

I tried attaching a picture that I'd taken with the phone and it worked. So are you telling me that I have to be a complete douche and actually take people's picture if I want it attached to their name???? I really hope this is not the case. If so, this phone gets one point on the retarded side.

are you saving the picture in the profile that is the primary profile?

ex.

I have FB, google and palm. My default profile is gmail but FB pictures override any pictures. so if i don't like the FB picture, I have to go to that contact, tap the picture, tap the google profile and then set it as the primary profile.
