Can't Decide... 750w or Centro (both AT&T)
Hello. This is my first post. I've been a reasonably happy Palm 700p (Verizon) user for 1.5 yrs, but only 2 bar reception at new office, and callers recently complaining of echo (sometimes I hear echo, too), got me to switch to another carrier. I'm in my 30-day trial with Centro (ATT). I like it, but I'm eyeing the 750w (ATT). Why? Because 3G network with 750w vs. EDGE with Centro would allow simultanious web/phone functionality. Plus, web is faster with 3G. These phones R my only 2 options if I want to have IR window (I'm real estate agent & IR opens lockboxes). Is it a mistake to dump the Centro in favor of 750w? Can anyone counsel me? Thanks.

The Treo 750 is a very well made phone. Not to slight the Centro, but I personally like the build quality of the Treo 750. That being said, it's still rather big compared the Centro. You are coming from a Palm OS 700p, which is similar in size to the 750. The slightly curved back and removal of the external antenna does make a difference, but I love the pocketability of the Centro. When considering this move, think about the size of the devices.
How is 3G coverage in your area? Are there any apps that you've been using on your Palm OS phone that you will miss when making the jump into Windows Mobile.
It's a personal decision, but I'd consider the following:- Form factor, size of devices
- 3G vs non-3G
- Existing Palm OS apps that you'll lose jumping to Windows
The keyboard on the Treo 750 is excellent, one of the best Palm keyboards that I have ever used.
It's a tough decision. I'm not sure what the price difference is between the two devices either. Also keep in mind that AT&T will be releasing a follow up to the Treo 750 later this year. The Treo 850 will be a nice mix of the Treo 750 and the Centro.
Good luck with your decision. Let us know what you decide.
