Hi. I'm new here and also new with a Treo and I need help! When I try and sync my treo with outlook, it doesnt work. I end up with multiples of the same contacts on my treo and no new entries from outlook on my palm. What should I do? I need those contacts from Outlook to be available to me wherever I am for meetings and what not. Please let me know what I can do. Hello, aedwards, and welcome to ET. I'll see if I can help. Open up Palm Desktop, then click on Hotsync / Custom, then select contacts, click change, and select "synchronize the files". Reset your Treo, then do a sync. Hopefully, you'll be good to go.

Okay, so that worked to sync the contact list, but now the calendar and tasks won't sync up between the Treo and Outlook. What do I do for that? Please let me know, ASAP. Thanks!

What exactly is the contacts problem? Do you have duplicates, or you've updated the Treo or the PC and the changes aren't sync'ing, or what?

There is no problem with the contacts...anymore. I took your advice from your first reply to my first post and it fixed the problem with the contacts...now there are no duplicates in my treo after sync'ing with outlook. Now, however, after I sync up, there are duplicate calendar entries on my treo, and if I have saved new tasks on my treo, they dont copy onto outlook. How do I fix that without undoing all the good I've already done with the contact list problem?

The same way you looked at the conduit for contacts, you need to look at the ones for tasks and calendar. I'm assuming that right now, you have dupe calendar and tasks on both the Treo and your PC. If that's the case, use the computer (it's easier) to get rid of the dupes, set the conduits to "desktop overwrites handheld" and sync. You should then have one set on the Treo and computer. After that, you'll need to decide where you're most likely to make updates and you can then set them to sync the files at every hotsync. A word of caution....if you've made updates on both the Treo and computer since the last sync, you'll need to adjust your conduits accordingly or you'll find yourself in trouble again.
