hello and one quick question

i just bought my treo 700w and love it... can i use this as a modem for my laptop when I am on the road? someone told me that I have to buy some sort of software in order to accomplish this... what is this software called? how much does it cost? can i download it online?

You can indeed use your 700W as a modem! You will need PDANet for Windows Mobile.

I have it for my 650 and its GREAT! I can't say enough good about this product!

thanks for the info stillrockin... i am new to the message borads so I am still trying to figure things out... i am sure I will have some more quesitons about the treo in due time... looking forward to using this site. i love the 700w

i ordered pdanet like you mentioned and I cannot get it to work... i loaded it up to my desktop and also my pda. When I click on connect nothing happens. If I look at the tray on my desk top i see a phone with the internet explorer icon above it and to the lower right i see a red and white circle with a line through it. I see the same thing on my treo in the tray area. What am I doing wrong? Can you please help me out...
