Hey all, basically I'm here because I got fed up of treocentral.com's forums because of all the rude people there (felt like no one could post anything without starting a flame war or being yelled RTFM at). I am a Mac user and a Treo user, and I wouldn't be a Windows user if my work didn't demand it (it's really all Autodesk's fault for not making a Mac version of AutoCAD). I recently got my Treo 650 after one year of not going with a PalmOS device (dropped my Treo 600 on hardwood floor, just used an old Nokia 6310i for the past year). This was basically against the recommendation of people who said that the Treo 650 was a unstable piece of doodoo, and urged me to get an iPaq or Q, basically something that runs Windows Mobile. (one of my good friends works at Wireless Wave). That wouldn't do, I've tried Windows Mobile before, i hate Windows Mobile much like I kinda dislike Windows XP (that's why I use a Mac) so anyway on with the story, the Treo 650 with Rogers (GSM) is prohibitively expensive up here in Canada eh? $450, but I managed to get a refurb for $200 which is normally reserved for warranty exchanges but they were willing to sell me one because I had a 600 -- and no extension of contract or $40+ data plan required, so yes I was indeed a happy camper. Well I tried going back to treocentral.com and found that people were just being rude or really really geeky (unlike a very friendly Canadian Mac forum I frequent,
http://www.ehmac.ca/), not to put them down because indeed I am a geek as well, but people had a tendency to bash the Treo and Palm and everything else for frivolous reasons and for me my Treo 650 has been working like an absolute charm -- I can't believe I've been working with a Treo for so long, my productivity has shot straight up since I got my Treo back. It is indeed doing its job.
Well anyway that goes it for the Treo side of things,
I am 23, was out of tech college last year although I've been working in the industry for 3.5 years right now. I was engaged, we're still together but just trying to take it slow right now (still hoping to get married in less than four years). I was born and raised in Edmonton, moved to Vancouver when I was 10, and indeed I cried when my Oilers did not win the Stanley Cup this year though I am still proud of them. I love watching and playing hockey, I mostly play goalie though I decided to go out this year for fun -- still looking forward to getting back between the pipes. I enjoy camping, rollerblading, I write music (hip-hop), listen to hip-hop, rock, punk, alternative, country, enjoy reading, TV shows, tend not to like movies as my attention span is not that great so the movie better be good. Hm well that's all I have to give right now but anyone I look forward to hearing from people and contributing to this forum.
Peace.
