Moving from Palm 650 to Treo Pro - password protected contacts in 650 have gone!
Hi there,
I've just transferred from my palm 650 (palm os) to the new treo pro (not my choice, was the only one the insurance company had when my last phone got damaged, wd prefer to have stuck with palm os). Only glitch is, I had contact information 'password protected' on the 650 phone, and while all my contacts have successfully sychrnonised from palm desktop on my mac to my new palm treo, none of the contacts that were password protected appear to have synchronised!
They're probably lost, and as it happens I could only ever see the secure contacts on my handheld 650 and not on the desktop (there didn't appear to be a 'unlock password protected info' tab on the desktop).
I'm resigned to the info being lost, but does anyknow know if this is the case, or can the info somehow migrate from my 650 dekstop to the treo pro. Seems pretty useless that hasn't migrated automatically, what's the point sticking with palm if it can't keep my most important info (have been with palm since 2001)!!
Any tips gratefully received!!
Thanks,
David

Do you have a recent back up? If so, reinstall it, unpassword, et cetera.

Thanks Benjie. I have all the info from my 650 on the palm desktop - the actual handheld is completely dead (run over!) - so I would have thought that I could unlock the info somehow on the desk top (on the basis that I alway sychrnoized the handheld and the computer), but the palm desktop doesn't seem to give me an option anywhere to unlock and apply my password so that I can view what was a secure contact on the handheld. Maybe one can only view them on the handheld (if so the info's lost to me!), but that does seem a little odd! Thanks for your advice.
