New 755p owner

Hi allJust ordered my new 755p Treo from Sprint. Couldn't pass up the SERO deal, and work has come down with Draconian internet policies. Basically hoping i have a way to keep in touch with cyberspace between 7 and 5. And the more uses I can squeeze out of it the better, I hope to use it as my MP3 and movie player as well.Great forum, can't wait to look around.

The Treo does a lot. Really. It does MP3s very well with a couple of applications; I use pTunes and movies with Kinoma 4.

I suggest taking the time to look at what you want to do with the device and then look for software to fit your needs. Specifically, I use my Sprint Treo 700p extensively for work. I use Documents to Go V9 for doing Word files and Excel files - works well; it also does PDF. I use HanDBase extensively, probably the most used application - captures bunches and bunches of work stuff.

I use mobileClock for an alarm clock. Datebook 6 for appointments. 2Day to interface with Datebook 6 - really neat. 2Day and TakePhone 7 make a heck of a combo when it comes to doing searches involving the contacts PIM. 2Day, TakePhone and 4Cast together cannot be beat. I use TealLock 6 for security; BluePill to kill it before you know it is dead. Resco Backup for the evening backup thing. Bunches of applications from Northglide: Uninstall Manager, OnGuard Backup, and a few other of their applications. I use Butler to nag, Reset Doctor to keep the DB cache under control. I use RingCare for call/SMS announcement. ZLauncher and Launch-Anywhere. ChatterEmail for IMAP mail. Ereader for the 50 or so ebooks on the card.

Bunches of things. Think what you want to do and go from there. If you go at it without any planning, you will get stuff that will never be used.
