Default New User -- Looking for a new phone

    Hi..
I've been a Palm user since I purchased a Palm III in 1998. My current contract on my Treo 650 is coming due and I am considering an upgrade.

My main goal is to loose the geek look (I carry a phone, corporate blackberry and a pager) by upgrading to one device that will provide all three services.

My contract ends in July, so I am starting my research kind of early.

Though I have always preferred the Palm, and in NJ, I like Verizon, I think that I will have the least problems with my corporate e-mail if I go with a personal Blackberry on Cingular. The Blackberry 8800 is a pretty sweet unit, but it is not 3G -- neither is their new 8300.

I am seriously considering the 750 on Cingular, but would rather have the 755p on Cingular if they pick it up. But I am not sure how the corporate mobility department will receive me when I ask to have a treo setup for my corporate e-mail.

If you are happy with Verizon, but want the e-mail functionality of a Blackberry, I read an article last week that VZW is coming out with the Blackberry 8830 smartphone (I think its supposed to be released this summer, but I'm not sure).

The cool thing is that its supposed to be compatible with both CDMA and GSM networks :gasp:

Personally, I don't think I could give up the Treo, but it does look pretty cool!

I am with you on that! I love the palm products and have so much software on my treo that I would have to give up (or pay to get new versions of on a new platform)

Thanks for the info on the Verizon/8830!
