Paste Anyone?

I'm new the the 700p, but very, very old to the PDA. Just gave up my UX-50 and I'm trying to adapt to the 700p.

My main question right now is how do you paste? If I try to log in to a web site, I can enter my userid just fine. But when that little window pops up for the password, I cannot figure out how to paste into it.

Maybe I'm missing something. So please let me know if I am...

.....not trying to insult your intelligence....have you hit the center button of the 5-way to "open" that pop-up window before pasting?

First, let me say this... you can't insult something I don't have. I've been married nearly 31 years. My intelligence went out the door with my kids and my money!

What I'm referring to specifically is when you copy/paste a password. I copy the password from SplashID. When I get to the web page I want to log into, I enter my userid and tap on the "-Unassigned-" Password box. This opens a pop-up to enter the password. With my UX-50, I entered ctl-v on the keyboard and the password pasted into the box.

With the Treo, there's no CTL key. I've tried using the special key to the left of the Z, the Alt key, etc... but nothing seems to work.

Straight from the horses mouth. It is not possible to paste into a pop-up window using a Treo 700p. Finally talked with Palm tech support and they gave me the unhappy news. I'm just wondering who thought up the idea of NOT putting a CTL button on the keyboard.

But, I've got Ludus P and all is well. Just a small button mapping and everyone's happy.

The news from Palm won't make anyone happy but the LudusP fix is pretty cool. I've had it since right after getting my 700p when the button mapping issues were driving everyone crazy. Guess this is the reason I haven't gotten rid of it yet.
