Treo 755 CRASHED! Cannot resync with hot sync on pc

Treo froze last night and then this morning my entire contacts list was gone and photos were corrupted. Then, I did a soft reset. Tried to resync phone and it crashed...couldn't even turn it off. It kept cycling back and forth between access screen and palm screen. Did hard reset and wiped it clean...tried to resync and BAM! Crashed and repeated cycle scenario again. So, I did hard reset and now have a glorified phone with no information whatsoever!

Help me please...my "life" is on this thing and I am lost without my calendar, contacts, etc.

Is your Treo crashing during the hotsync, or after when you try to access your data?

Good questions also, you can email your PIM files to you as attachments and save 'em to the device or use a card reader. I also suggest using an application such as DBFixit if the reset was when you tried to access a file, especially the PIM files.

it was crashing during the hot sync. have just been on phone with sprint service [yeah right] who has had me save my files [we hope] in another folder and then I have deleted everything re palm from my pc...in the registry, program files, etc.

he recommends that i defrag tonight and then download new treo sync software and go from there.

how does that sound to you...right now I am dead in the water...thank you soooo much for answering me.

Defragmenting the desktop is a good idea and renaming the backup folder means nothing is lost from the original installation. Resetting though during the hot sync and a hard reset has been done, then the problem is probably with a corrupted file on the desktop.

When the desktop is installed, try the first sync with a brand new setup (same name though) and if it goes well, then COPY the OLD backup folder (old one you named OLDXXXXX to the new backup folder which will copied to XXXXX (your older user name).
