Default anything to look out for re: 680? I have a 650 already

Is there anything to look out for with regard to the 680? I have a 650 already.

Is the reception going to be worse?
Do the apps work the same?
Battery life, is it much worse?

    thank you

    I replaced a 650 with a 680.
Pros: Seems to be stable, Tranfer of my apps went very smoothe. Much better experience than going from a Tungsten to the 650. At first I thought my reception was not as good, but I am backing away from that statement now. As time has gone on, I think its about the same as my 650, and I considered it excellent! All my apps work the same, but there are some changes. The home key and menu key has been moved. I have adjusted pretty quick, because I picked up the 650 yesterday and kept going to the wrong place to grab the menu key. There have been slight changes to the phone navigation that I LOVE! I think the interface is much improved!

Cons: Battery Life! I am running Chatter and Bluetooth, and my battery won't last a full day without a charge. 7-9 hours if I am lucky!

thanks for your quick reply. I am worried about the battery though.

Say if you talk on it for an hour or two and have bluetooth on, what do you think the life would be like?

And, do you think we'll ever have the opportunity to have a bigger capacity batter for it?

I don't know how much a high capacity battery can help. Someone here in the forums told me they were getting 24 hours out of their stock battery. But they were only using it very little without bluetooth HS's and no real data usage to speak of . . Just my guess, but I would say that two solid hours with a BT HS would probably mean you better have a charging source of some kind handy. I currently have several charging sources so its not an issue all the time, but now I am figuring if I leave out in the morning, and know I won't be home until late, I better plan on having something more than my 680 with me to charge it. Something never an issue with the 650.

Hi, thanks for your message, it sounds worrying about the battery. Someone on another forum told me there is a bigger battery in the pipeline?

I have heard mention that Seidio will make one. I read elsewhere that someone was making a 650/700 type battery with a new cover, so that you could expand it that way . . . Kind of defeats the purpose, of slimmer, trimmer, lighter. but may be a good alternative, I don't know . .

If battery life is the main concern (it appears to be everywhere), then it is a problem shared by many PDAs and smart phones. Buy another battery is my suggestion or have one as a spare.

I have a high end Nextel phone that requires me to carry a spare battery - it only lasts 6 hours of normal usage. My Treo 700p lasts 7 hours of normal usage (30%), so I just charge it off and on throughout the day.

People want smaller and lighter phones equates to smaller batteries.
