I have been hearing rumors that the 750p would be out by 4 July, yet those seem to have been unfounded. Knowing I NEED to have a device by the middle of the month, and the sooner I can get it the better, would I be advised to just wait the few days for the 750p?
ALSO: The extra $50-$100 for the higher version isn't a major issue, but I also don't want to be shelling out that dough for nothing... is the
750p really worth the wait and the extra money? What exactly, other than the "sleeker" design and Google Maps (...without GPS...) am I paying/waiting for?
Thanks for the help!
I haven't heard those rumors, but it's quite possible. I'd venture to say it's a "versioned" Treo 755p. Should you wait? Definitely if it's true. That's a big if. The Treo 755p has the updated firmware (still waiting for Verizon to update the 700p), plus you get a sleeker device sans antenna. Also, it comes with Palm's IM app which is great. I also think the Treo 750/755 keyboard is the best out there. Add this all up and it's very nice package.
Keep an eye on the major blogs (engadget mobile) and this site -- if it's coming, there will be buzz. My guess is that Verizon is anxious to get new products in the pipeline to compete with the
iPhone.
Good luck.
