This is a discussion on Treo 800 within the Treo Smartphones forums; I definitely like it, but I do hope it has some thickness too, I'd be afraid id snap it in ...

it would be nice to not have the recessed screen.

Looks good...hope it has some good changes on it though.

I think they should make everything except the keyboard a touchschreen. The screen would be larger and sleeker. The current buttons above the keyboard should be touch buttons. What do you think?

Now that we have an idea of what it looks like; I just want to know when Sprint will quit pulling everybody's leg and put the darn thing up for sell. I'm still wrestling with the 650 because I will not sign a new contract until the 800 is on the shelf.

I spoke to a sprint rep and apparently they are having some of the corp sales reps enjoy the new 800 and my source tells me that it will the best Treo ever and will be a little flat but wider and have plenty of room for us big finger guys that love the latest and greatest technology.

The original rumor was February. The latest rumor is April. I haven't seen good solid evidence for either. With Sprint devices, you usually see a leak on the carrier side. This has yet to happen with the Treo 800w, so I'm guessing April at CTIA (wireless conference).

Come April I also will do some serious looking at it. Ben

Palm needs posiive PR hype...
....very badly. I am betting that they will wait to CTIA in April to cash in on the free press exposure and trade show hype. Kind of like how the "Foleo" was supposed to go down in 2007, but didn't.
I just hope it has enough RAM to be stable and that all the new features don't kill the battery. Anyone here know what it's like to have the bluetooth on and have two half hours of talktime provide you with battery warnings by lunch time?
A flush screen would be nice and show that Palm is at least trying to stay with mainstream design trends.
Last request, as a Verizon user, I hope that the dreadfully long six month wait from the Sprint release date will payoff with an 800wx....

Just got confirmation of release date
Stopped by my favorite Sprint store and they confirmed that the Treo 800 will definitely be out in 60 days so I'll wait til its ready and be in line for mine
