Wow, that's the first news I've heard about a release date. I hope it's for real. I speculated they would use CTIA to announce it, so that would be in line with what the Sprint store is saying.

Treo 800w is the rumored new smartphone (read Treo 800w Quite the Hype). I don't know of a Treo 800p. I haven't seen any rumored Palm OS Treos. I think it'll be awhile before we see any buzz surrounding those devices. Nova, Palm's next generation OS, is slated for 2009. CES 2009 would be a nice launching point, if they were able to make that date.

Here's the photo that appeared in Bill Gates' keynote at this year's CES.

Yes the phone will definitely be out right at the end of CTIA. Thats the feedback I received from the store manager at sprint. He says that the phone will definitely be the best smartphone that Palm has ever put together. He says that the only reason they could not enjoy experiencing the phone was because the phone was not to be shown to the public and the color of the Drucker that was shown that Bill Gates had on his presentation was not the actual colors of the phone. They are suppose to offer the original Treo colors of blue with silver, and burgandy with silver. The phone will likely look very enticing. They were waiting on CTIA because it gave Palm time to work the bugs out of it. Hopefully they had enough time.
