Adobe vs Apple the war just started

Android Loot for Adobe Employees

It seems that the Apple versus Adobe issue is not over yet.

In an effort to encourage the use of a developer that does support the Flash format, Adobe is going to give their employees a high end Android phone for free.

That is right, it seems that the fallout between the two companies is now formal since the higher ups at Adobe are not going to take Steve Jobs’ letter lying down. It has been a quite a ride, seeing the two mobile industry giants butt heads through public letters and blog posts, but now it is truly established. It is expected that Adobe will not let their employees sport the iPhone when Apple made it clear that it wants nothing to do with Flash.

Although it has not yet been formally determined, the suspected mobile phone giveaway includes the Nexus One and several other top of the line HTC smart phones. The chosen device will then come packed with the mobile counterpart of Adobe Flash Player 10.1.

It may be that giving away freebies are becoming a commonplace quick fix in the mobile industry. Just recently, Palm launched their very own “Random Acts of Wow” retention program in order to reward people who still hang on to their Palm Pre or Pixi and use it in public.

Does this mean that the 8,600 or so Adobe employees will be throwing out their older mobile phones sometime soon? There are no talks of a strict policy or an agreement that they are required to but who would want to say no to such expensive loot. Even the developers attending the Google I/O conference that is going to be held this May are most likely going to receive a Nexus One or a Motorola Droid with the newest version of Adobe’s Flash software.

wow this is getting hot.
