Oh yes, I remember why: Wolf was offering a $50 gift coupon which I misread as a $50 rebate. Stroke, right? But no matter: the same stroke made me forget to buy a second battery (something I routinely do) and it costs $50. Done.
Thanks again.

I was doing my monthly Costco run (water, paper towels, etc) and noticed they had D40 kits. Typically, the bundles at Costco are nice. After I make a big purchase, I try to avoid looking for this very reason...but I had to tell ya. Just checked out Costco's site and it's $579, so you still made out. Not sure if the store bundle is any different, but online you get a 2GB card (no big deal given the prices on CF). You did better at Wolf. You'll easily spend that coupon on a filter, camera bag, etc.
Good luck! Report back.
