I need an Excel Guru to help I am trying to set something up for my fantasy football league, so this is nothing important. I have an excel spreedsheet set up to keep track of all the points in my league. Yes, I know they have things online that keep track of your points for you, but this league has been around for a long time and we have been using this spreedsheet forever. We also fear change.
It is hard to explain so I can email it to someone if that would help, but I don't even know if what I am asking is possible.
Basicaly here is what I have: A worksheet for every week with the fantasy teams starting lineup and the fantasy lineup of the team they play. Then I have a worksheet for season stats. It takes the weekly totals for every player and adds them, averages them, and all sorts of fun stuff. The problem is I have to put all the scores in by hand. The stat sheet basically looks like this:
Player-----Wk1---Wk2---Wk3
P.Manning--35----36-----28
My question: Is there a way or a formula that excel can look on the Wk 1 Worksheet and see the cell that says P.Manning and then display the number in the cell next to it in the Wk 1 column on the stat sheet? It would probably be easy if P.Manning was always in the same cell, but he is in a different cell almost every week.
I'm sure this doesn't make any sense but I thought I would try.
Thanks in advance and my apologies to those who lost 20 seconds of there life reading this silliness. |
