| Playstation 3 Count me in on those who get caught in the pre-launch hype. I decided to see if I could grab one this morning through Costco. Fanatics must have been pinging the site that it went down. I actually got to the Add to Cart page, but it never went through. Timed out and then it was sold out. Just as well, another gaming system to collect dust. The addition of BlueRay was what got me. Why these companies don't make more systems is beyond me. The hype they receive is incredible (people camped out, etc), but why not flood the channels come the week before Christmas. I'd venture to bet some people lose interest after the holidays.
If you were lucky enough to grab one, congrats.
-Chris

| Due to production costs, Sony is actually losing $200+ per console. I think they intentionally under-produce to drive up demand. Then once they get production costs down, they can recoup their initial loss. The same thing happened when the PS2 debuted.

| That makes sense. I heard a news report today that it's the first product of it's kind being mass produced. I assume it's the BlueRay they are talking about. Now, to go further off the offtopic. Has anyone heard who is winning the war of BlueRay vs HD DVD? I'm a pretty avid movie guy, but planned on sticking to the sidelines until this slanted one way or the other.

I'm not sure who's winning the war, but just as you stated I'm waiting till they decide on a format. I've seen more HD-DVD's in stores than I have BlueRay if that means anything. |

| The Wii looks fab and at a reasonable price(£180), I've only seen it on their web site you can see some peeps playing tennis golf etc. It looks like a good work out.
Here in the UK we're still waiting the ps3 it looks like retailing at £500-£600 eeek, best be keeping me Ps2 for now............ |
