I just called and got a free airave with the monthly fee waved for as long as i am with sprint. It was great customer service, all i said was that i drop 3-4 calls a day at home and it is frustrating. she gave me the deal with no threat of leaving.

Service is great in my area, poor in my house. I'm going to give them a buzz. I'd pay the extra $5 if it meant good service in my house. AT&T has good service in my house, but I get plenty of dropped calls outside of it.
Thanks OP!

So I have been with sprint for 13 years and have never thought of leaving them until today. I bought 4 pre's and 2 are at my house where the signal is 1 bar, versus my centro which was 5 bars. After an hour of trying to get them to recoginize that I need the airave they decided that I had to buy one and pay the monthly fee. So, I came out with the "I need to return all 4 phones as well as cancel my contract to go to Apple?" They transfered me to a guy and he reviewed my account and then offered the airave shipped to me and free service for 24 months at which time I will have to pay for the machine if I want it any longer. I figure Sprint will get it figured out by then anyhow. So thank you everythingpre board as I now have gotten what I need enjoy the best phone on the market hands down.

Congrats, I am glad they recognized what type of customer you are. 13 years, you are the only person I know of who have been with them longer than my family (~10 years). I also have the airave for 2 years, but as you said, by then they should either have better signal or give me another free 2 years.

I got my free airave today. It works 20x better than I expected it to. I went from no reception to perfect reception in a 28,500 sq ft building. I've been with sprint for 8 years and I've always been pleased. Now even more.

Brenner........you rock! I just got off the phone w/ retentions and they are overnighting me the Airave for free as well as waiving the monthly fee for as long as I'm w/ Sprint! Plus as an added bonus that I may take them up on: we have the family plan w/ 4 phone and w/ the Airave for an extra $20 a month I can have unlimited calls at home on all 4 phones. Meaning when I'm connected to the Airave at home all call are free. I'm thinking drop the home phone to just the basic line for local calls and just use the cells now and that should save me a few coin.

Here's my story. On Saturday I got a Pre for myself and a Rant for my wife. We both have the same problem with limited service and calls dropping. I had a Q before and my service was spotty, but I could live with it. Anyway, I called customer service today to complain and hopefully get my share of the Airwave pie. I was put on hold and told that she was checking the tower in my area. Come to find out, there actually is a problem with the tower in my area and they are sending a technician out to look at it. Int the meantime, I still have crappy service and battery problems. I guess I have to wait until they fix the tower and I still won't have service in my house. Then I get to call back and start the process all over again.

I got mine approved finally...been with them almost 10 years...always had crappy signal at my place...didn't even know this was an option for me until I saw it here :laugh3:
The one peculiar thing I see is that some here only got it free for 24 months....for mine they said that they are shipping it to me for free...no equipment or monthly cost as long as I'm with sprint......
I wonder if we are all "free" only for 24 months or some got just 24 months...others, like me, got it free with no time limit...

They told me 24 months and then if I leave Sprint in the mean time I have to return the box or if I renew in 24 months then I will be charged for the box. I think they will be stronger by then or the phone's strength will be better. Either way I am stoked and glad to see Sprint is stepping up and taking care of it's customers.
