Camera or Multimedia Best Buy Still At $99, Offering 1/2 Off Second Pre?

This might depend on location, but one commenter was able to get the Palm Pre at Best Buy for $99. What's more, he scored a second at half price. That's $162 for two Palm Pre phones.

Anyone else shop Best Buy recently?

Honestly, I feel all of these crazy cheap deals will de-value the product.

I think it's not a matter of if, but when the Pre hits $99. Best Buy was just first to pull the trigger. I've seen some of the net wireless stores are at $99.

Good thing is that it'll bring more users to the Pre community, which in turn should get more developers on board.

If we started seeing more apps of the official kind, I think adoption would increase at a greater level then what we've seen. I really thought we'd see more apps by now. I'm guessing I'm not alone.:dft004:cry

The thing is i rather have decent apps then ones i really dont care for. Example fart, burp or anything like that are useless. I mean there great for a quick laugh but like i saw somewhere they called the Iphone app store a wasteland of apps. I also would like to see some games like ace word which these guys(http://www.everythingpre.com/forum/w...ace-22841.html) are making but removed it off youtube but look great. In time we will have everything.

You guys are taking that ur phone has lost "half" its value in just two months. I'm pretty upset. It does d value the phone. It also devalues its cache. I guess those of us who paid $199 were the BETA suckers. Ok...think I nn a coffee run.

    Aldo,

True - Apples App Store does have a lot of junk apps. However, it also has a plethora (I love that word) of great apps. Even if only 10,000 are good, useful apps (and this is a low estimate), that's still a boatload of good apps to choose from.

Some of the apps I have are (presently installed on my 3GS):

    Accuweather
Weather Channel (I like redundancy :dft010:smile)
    AutoStitch (Photo panorama app)
    Shazam (music ID)
    WunderRadio (30,000+ streaming stations)
    Colloquy (IRC)
    i.TV (TV guide)
    Slingbox Mobile (Live TV)
    MLB At Bat
    Google Voice Mobile
    Camera Zoom
    Facebook
    Flixter (movie listings, etc.)
    Google Mobile (voice search)
    RedLaser (Bar code reader)
    Nutrition (dietary app)
    Photoforge (a mini-Photoshop)
    Photogene (photo effects)
ColorSplash (choose details in b&w photo to detail in color)
Remote (control iTunes from my iPhone)

I do have a few games as well:

    F.A.S.T. (Fleet Air Superiority Trainer)
    Five Dice (Yahtzee Clone)
    Fastlane (racing)
SudokuMagic (takes a photo of a Sudoku puzzle and puts the puzzle on your iPhone with option to solve instantly)
    iSpadez (spades card game)

I'm just saying, don't think of the App Store as just fart and burp apps. There's a lot of quality in there as well.

Gath i meant no disrespect ok. I understand Iphone as tons of great apps and i would like too see them over at the Pre. But what im trying to say i dont want too see in three years 100,000 useless apps. I got a question for you do you have a Iphone and a Pre or whats the deal. I notice when someone mentions Iphone you come out and attack. I was going to say something in another post and say this is a Pre forum you have to understand if i went to a Iphone forum example http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum...ons-51736.html and said something i would get attack for defending my Pre. I am not that person so i leave you iphone users to your buisness.

    Aldo,

    SHHH,

He's the spy from North Korea that sera was talking about...

On a serious note he does have both and is truly being objective when it comes to talking about both platforms. Some of those I would love to have, which i did use om my q9c. Shazam being one, google mobile and a true radio streamer like pocket player ore Core player.

I'm happy that some of the homebrew are good. I'm using mynotification and one of the gvoice dialers. last night he even agreed that they have a ton of "crapps" :dft009:happy
 Remember if someone helps you to hit the Thanks Button...

There are also more than a handful of iPhone Twitter apps that best Tweed and Spaz. I really have high hopes for webOS Twitter apps, but will hold off on passing judgment until the ball starts rolling.

Using gaming consoles as an analogy, games that launch with a console are usually so-so. I think webOS and development is still new to developers. Once they know the in's and out's, that's when the fun starts.

Palm also continues to make major/minor tweaks to the OS. Geez, the latest update changed menu speed. That's a pretty major revision.
