    Smile Classic Apps

I liked the classic apps demo. I think that will be a game changer just to give users the same type of functionality in a card view. I hope adding all the old web apps features will solve peoples issue to keep classic apps.

I agree about the Classic app. I have quite a few apps and games for PalmOS, and I really don't want to spend the money to replace them all for webOS. The phone plus new accessories will be expensive enough.

    Vrey True..

honestly, I thought something like this was gonna take 6 mos. to a year to come out. I have grin from ear to ear when I watched the vid. Its things like this that make it ALMOST bearable to wait for the release. They keep giving us more and more... little by little...
hey, maybe that's their marketing strategy

    Question

    One other thought though...

Will the emulator support the full touch functionality of Palm OS and will you be able to CUT and PASTE from within the emulator out to WebOS apps??

Here's the best video I've seen covering Classic Apps:

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/02/p...moed-on-video/

They discuss how it all works (didn't remember anything about cut/paste). Although they said that synergy doesn't get ported into the emulator, the touch screen works and is actually key.

Thanks Walt, that was an excellent video, clearly detailing how to use the emulator, and more importantly describing developmental intention for the emulator. Since i am not currently a Palm user, I prob won't use the emulator too much, because I have never bought any Palm apps, but it is nice to know that if there is something out there that is awesome, i can still d/l it and use it on the emulator.

Same here, I don't know anything about them.
If anything, I'll probably try to implement a couple into cards and sell em.

Amazing how snappy the emulator is. Notice how fast the apps open up.. very cool stuff.

Another very good point about the emulator that I haven't seen brought up is that it will give you access to a wealth of Palm OS games. There are plenty of great old (and sometimes free) games out there that will help tide you over until webOS versions are created

I was interested in viewing this video, but when I clicked the link it said "Not found". Any suggestions as to how I can view it?
