System Tools or Repair Erasing All Contacts

I am experiencing an issue in that I used the Palm Data Transfer Assistant to import all of my Outlook Contacts. I then edited my Outlook contacts after realizing that they contacted errors. I RE-imported them again, and rather than overwriting my existing contacts, I now have over 600. I know that the Pre is intuitive enough to "link" these matching contacts, but I would prefer to remove ALL contacts and start from scratch.
Problem is, I tried a FULL RESET of the Pre, and when I set the phone back up and it synced with my Palm Profile, the errored contacts still exist! I tried logging directly into the Palm Profile to remove contacts from there, but it only allows to to edit the profile itself, or perform a remote reset.

IDEAS? I just want my CURRENT, newly updated and edited Outlook contacts in my phone!!!!!

i just spent the last 3 days fixing all my contacts! Outlook synced with Pre and then Palm desktop and then google contacts and in the end I had 2500 contacts with 3 and 4 duplicates.
Here is what I had to do:
    1. Spend 2 days deleting and merging contacts in google
    2. log into my palm device manager https://ps.palmws.com/palmcsext/cons...oginPage.iface and click the only button there, erase all
    3. when the pre is done resetting it asked if I want to log in or create new. (Since I already tried the previous 2 times to erase everything and login only to have my contacts multiply again. I chose NEW login.
    4. went to gmail created a new email account and used that email address to set up
    5. FINALLY got to screen asking about contacts and imported from google only and not using the import software from Palm.
    6. all is right in the world and I love my Pre Again

Ha, I just found a work around!!!!
Go to backup on your pre and turn off backup and there is on option to turn off and erase backup. I wonder if you do that and then hard reset and then sync with outlook you can not have to create a new Palm account. Good luck
