EverythingPre
I've received a number of emails, PM's from members (this and other sites) asking if there will be a Pre website in our family of communities. I can say without a doubt, "YES!". In fact, the site has been built for weeks and I've been updating it regularly with Pre news and more. Honestly, it gets old updating a site that no one has access to outside of yourself.
I'm pleased to report that there is a bit of light at the end of that tunnel. I do not have a firm date, but I'm hopeful it will be very soon. I don't even want to give a time frame, as I'm superstitious and do not want to jinx myself. There are a few things that need to be resolved before the site can go live.
I do encourage lurkers to sign up here, as your membership, posts, etc will be accessible on the Pre site. Finally, you can follow the new site at Twitter.com/everythingpre if you're into that sort of thing.
Thanks for your patience and I apologize for the delay.

Ok I have to ask, why a different web site for just the pre.
1. These web sites do not get a lot of traffic, why break them up in to little sub groups so each one gets even less traffic.
2. It's a palm, a lot of people will be upgrade from an older palm. There will be problems and questions about their old palm. It would be nice to keep all the information in one location.
3. I guess you have a Blackberry site as well, it would be nice to group then all together that way people trying to pick between the two have all the information in one spot.
4. The more information you put in one location the more people will visit. How many questions here go unanswered for days at a time due to lack of traffic. A current blackberry bold user may have had a palm 600 and would check that area if it was all together. But by having everything split between several sites, people at not likely to bounce around.

Different sites in the network perform better than others. The Pre will bring new users to the Palm community. When they sit in front of their computer looking for a Pre forum, they might not be so quick to sign up at Everything Treo.

Good news is that all the information will be centralized when it comes to forums. You'll be able to discuss the Pre, the Centro and of course the Treo here at ET. Pre and Centro forums will also access to just their respective forum categories.
3. I guess you have a Blackberry site as well, it would be nice to group then all together that way people trying to pick between the two have all the information in one spot.
I've got a number of sites. In a perfect world, it would be nice to have one big community, but it's too difficult to manage the technology needed to make that happen. I'm not completely shut off to the idea, but it comes with plenty of baggage.

I'm going to be making some improvements throughout the network that makes it easier to "bounce around". I've done a poor job of promoting other sites within the network. I suspect we'll have a lot of people coming here from Everything Q and Everything iCafe.
Believe me, I wish I could just roll along here at ET, but that would still cause a fractured community --- but it would fracture to Pre sites not created by me. I can't have that.

Chris thanks for the update and additional information. I had some of the same questions in mind.

To sum it up, just think of Everything Treo as the comprehensive Palm community. Centro and Pre communities will be dedicated to those individual devices. Discussions such as this one will be visible on both the upcoming Pre site and ET.

I'll let you know when to camp out. Seriously, this year will be marked by less expansion of the 'everything' network and a renewed focus on making for a better experience for our members. There are new homepages throughout the network and this particular community will see the launch of the new 'social' features in the coming days.
The new sites do support A2DP. They all support cut and paste, save for this site.:tounge:

Games and e-books?
I love to read e-books and have bought over 400 from e-Reader alone. Do you know what plans Palm may have for those of us so hooked on reading?
Also, do you have any knowledge about how one will play games, most of which have previously always required a stylus?
Thanks for all your help.

I have not heard or seen a thing about this so I would say that's up in the air.
